Removal of heavy metals from textile industry wastewater

Wastewaters of several industries such as textile, leather or dye etc., contain dangerous and toxic compounds, even some which are potential carcinogenics. Considering the volume composition, wastewaters textile industry have much more polluting characteristics compared to other industries. Although treatment processes must definitely be implemented in point environment living organisms, many factories discharge their acceptor media without any because high costs. This study investigated zeolite clay with availability low cost wastewater economically feasible alternatives activated carbon. The adequacy zeolite-clay mixture was also investigated. We determined optimum time for heavy metal removal from dye-containing samples 6 hours. clay+zeolite+activated carbon provided highest Cd, Cu, Mn, Pb, Zn zeolite, clay, carbon, carbon+clay, carbon+zeolite clay+zeolite.
